KATHERINE ENG '93

Kathy Eng enjoyed a fine four-year career on the NJIT women's volleyball, distinguishing herself in each season she played from 1989 to 1992. An outside hitter her leadership skills were reflected in the fact that she was team captain from her sophomore year on. And her playing skills were reflecting in her recognition as team Most Valuable Player in 1990, 1991 and 1992.

At that time, NJIT competed in NCAA Division III and Kathy was the 1991 individual national champion in service aces per game, as she notched a school-record 105 aces that season.

During her career, the NJIT women's volleyball team competed in three different conferences and she was honored by all three on numerous occasions.

In the Women's Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, she was a four-time all-conference selection, making second team as a freshman and first team the last three years.

In the Independent Athletic Conference, she achieved the same honors, garnering second-team all-IAC in 1989 and first-team laurels the next three years.

In the Jersey 9, she was a three-time honoree, owing to the fact that the Jersey 9 did not exist during her freshman season. However, she made first-team all-conference after her sophomore, junior and senior seasons.
