Community Service
At New Jersey Institute of Technology, the athletic department prides itself on giving back to the local community. Student-athletes, coaches and other members of the athletic staff participate in a variety of activities throughout the year.
Below is a listing of activities where the NJIT athletic teams have been involved in community service projects during the 2007-2008 school year.
Men's Soccer
October 21, 2007 -- Players and coaches of the NJIT men's soccer team performed community service on Sunday, October 21, spending all afternoon in Metuchen, NJ, assisting the Women Helping Women organization by moving heavy furniture. Press Release

April 13, 2008 -- Coaches and student-athletes from the NJIT men's soccer team volunteered their time on April 13 to assist "New Eyes for the Needy", a charitable organization that purchases new prescription glasses for poor people in the United States and recycles glasses for distribution to indigent people overseas.
