Coming off of one of the finest seasons in school history in 2007, Kwesi Mitchell is serving as a student assistant coach as he completes his course work for a degree in mechanical engineering.
In NJIT's first season of Division I competition, Mitchell led the team in nine important categories, batting .371 with a school-record 13 home runs and 44 RBI. He was named to the NJCBA Division I all-state team and to the national Division I Independent all-star team and completed his NJIT career with 21 home runs, 104 RBI (2nd all-time), 105 runs scored (tied for 2nd), and 168 hits (2nd).
He has signed to play professionally in 2008 for the Atlantic City Surf of the independent Canadian-American League.
