Men's Fencing Hosts NJIT Invitational

NEWARK, NJ - NJIT's Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center was the site for the men's fencing NJIT Invitational held on Sunday afternoon.

Schools that were represented were: Cornell, Drew, William & Mary, Army, Drew, Haverford, Hunter, Johns Hopkins and Lafayette.

The Highlanders closest competition of the day came against Lafayette as the Leopards edged NJIT, 15-12.

In the foil competition, Javier Vasques and Michael Davis picked up two wins apiece while freshman Amrit Ramjattan won all three of his bouts.

Freshman Tyler Sells added a point for the Highlanders defeating Kim Fergusson, 5-2, in the saber competition.

The Leopards edged NJIT in the epee, 5-4, as Paul Lorenz, Andrew Kirk and Dan DeValve picked up points.

The Highlanders will return to action on Sunday, February 24 when they compete at the MACFA Tournament at Army.
