Men's Fencing Wins Once at Sacred Heart Meet

FAIRFIELD, CT - New Jersey Institute of Technology men's fencing came away with a close win over Yeshiva in all-day competition hosted by Sacred Heart Sunday afternoon.

The Highlanders edged Yeshiva, 16-11, while dropping to host team Sacred Heart.

Senior Rob Tani won all three of his bouts in the sabre competition. Freshman Andrew Kirk, did the same in the epee, as Yeshiva edged the Highlanders 5-4. NJIT picked up an 8-1 win in the foil led by captain Javier Vasques and freshman Amrit Ramjattan picking up three wins apiece.

Sacred Heart was a 25-3 winner against NJIT - two of the NJIT points coming in the sabre competition.

The Highlanders return to action on Sunday, January 27, when they travel to John Hopkins to face Maryland, North Carolina, St. John's (MD), Virginia, Virginia Tech and William & Mary.
