WILLIAMSBURG, VA - New Jersey Institute of Technology men's fencing team competed at the 55th Annual Middle Atlantic Collegiate Fencing Association Championships, which were held on Sunday, February 25 at the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Va.
The sabre team featured senior Rob Tani, sophomore Patrick Alvarado and freshman Lennart Go. The epee squad consisted of three freshmen - Zachary Hvizdak, Javier Vasques and Paul Lorenz.
In the epee, the Highlanders best individual performance came from Javier Vasques, who compiled a 5-9 record on the day. Paul Lorenz fought hard on the strip and tallied three wins.
In the sabre, Tani who placed 23rd last year in the sabre competition at the NCAA regional's collected four wins. NJIT received strong individual performances from Patrick Alvarado and Lennart Go who both tallied two wins apiece.
