Syosset, NY - Chris Pawlik and Derek Ranger were both chosen to represent the Highlanders at the Metropolitan Collegiate Hockey Conference All-Star game on January 14th, 2007.
Chris Pawlik, a freshman defenseman, and Derek Ranger, a freshman forward, played in the All-Star game in Syosset, NY, home of the Hofstra Univeristy Ice Hockey Club. The two players were selected by coaches from around the league.
Derek Ranger had one point during the game, and assisted on a goal.
"I was very happy to be chosen as a freshman to play in the all-star team and represent the school at the game," said Ranger when asked about the experience of being chosen as an all-star in his first year of play.
The pair was playing alongside their former competitors from during the semester. For one game, players from teams all around the league worked together to show their overall skills on the ice.
"It was fun playing with other players from other teams at the all-star game," said Ranger.
