PHILADELPHIA - NJIT sophomore men's soccer player Erik Magnusson was named Atlantic Soccer Conference Player of the Week, ASC director Tony Berich announced today.
Phillip LaMarre from Florida Atlantic tabbed Goalie of the Week where he allowed just one goal and collected four saves in a 1-1 tie against conference rival Adelphi.
Longwood's freshman Johan Karlhagen was named Rookie of the Week as he registered his first collegiate goal in a 3-0 win over Philadelphia.
In a 1-1 week for the Highlanders, Magnusson recorded two goals and tallied four points.
The Highlanders visited Army on October 24, as Magnusson scored the team's lone goal from Dylan Broadley in a 4-1 setback.
A native of Sweden, he added his second goal of the week and team-leading fifth of the year in a 2-0 win at Howard.
The Highlanders who have three games left in the regular season will host Bucknell in a non-conference match on Lubetkin Field Wednesday, October 31at 7 pm.
NJIT will turn around and face Adelphi in an ASC conference match-up on Saturday, November 3 which will mark the last home game for seniors: Brian Nash, Dario Brito, Robert Herrera and Collin Cunning. The match begins at 2pm.
