Men's Soccer Community Service Pictures
Metuchen, NJ - Players and coaches of the NJIT men's soccer team performed community service on Sunday, October 21, spending all afternoon in Metuchen, NJ, assisting the Women Helping Women organization by moving heavy furniture.
The help from the Highlander soccer program to Women Helping Women continues a tradition of community service by the players and coaches.
On the 21st, assistant coaches Javier Velasco and Oren Daniel took part along with approximately 20 players (head coach Pedro Lopes, who has made community service an important facet of his program's off-the-field activity, was not present due to the birth of his daughter).
Women Helping Women is a 32-year old non-profit 501.c.3 organization devoted to empowering generations, one life at a time. Women Helping Women serves more than 5,000 women, girls and teens each year with affordable therapy and support services.
Women Helping Women's services include: individual, couple and family therapy; medication evaluation and monitoring; therapy groups; support groups; family law legal clinics; telephone help line; strong girls program; community education programs; mediation services; and phone therapy.
WHW is a recipient of the Division on Women's "Best Program" award.
