Highlanders Get Two School Records in Meet at Montclair State

November 15, 2005

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Hayk Ekshian and Marc Ubaldi continued to set new individual New Jersey Institute of Technology men's swimming school records in the Highlanders' visit to Montclair State Tuesday.

Ekshian swam the 100-yard butterfly in 56.89, marking the fourth straight race in which the junior has set a new NJIT record for the event. Ubaldi, also a junior, tied his own NJIT record with a time of 50.93 in the 100-yard freestyle.

Montclair won the meet, 97-80, going to 2-1 on the season, while NJIT is 3-2.

Andrew Coslow (500-yard freestyle) and Ben Angeli (100-yard backstroke) scored firsts for NJIT, while the Highlanders did well in the 100-yard breaststroke, as Ubaldi, Ed Lui and Rob Franc finished second, third and fourth, respectively. Ubaldi nipped Lui by two-tenths of a second for second place behind Montclair's Drew DeCagna.

NJIT will visit SUNY Maritime on Wednesday, November 30, in a 6 pm start.
