Adelphi Tops Highlanders In First Meet of the Semester

NEWARK, NJ - Marc Ubaldi set a new school record for New Jersey Institute of Technology in the 400-yard individual medley, but the Highlanders, swimming competitively for the first time since early December, lost to visiting Adelphi, 105-85.

Ubaldi, a junior set the 400 IM mark with a time of 4:39.68, giving his team its only first-place finish of the day. The Highlanders had five seconds--the team of Daniel Botero, Rob Franc, Ed Lui and Mike Lawson in the 400 medley relay; Steve Schreyer in the 200 free; Hayk Ekshian in the 50 free; Ubaldi in the 100 free; and the team of Ekshian, Lawson, Lui and Schreyer in the 400 free relay.

The Highlanders will host Fairleigh Dickinson on Wednesday at 6 pm
