Highlanders Defeat Queens, 90-64

QUEENS, NY - Hayk Ekshian's school record in the 50-yard freestyle was the highlight in New Jersey Institute of Technology's 90-64 win over Queens in men's swimming Friday night.

Ekshian set the new record with a time of 22.57. Ekshian also won the 100-yard butterfly in a time of 55.34, as the Highlanders raised their season record to 9-5.

NJIT won the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard freestyle relay. Andrew Coslow was first in the 1,000-yard freestyle. Steve Schreyer was first in the 100-yard freestyle, as was Marc Ubaldi in the 100-yard breast stroke.

Next up for the Highlanders are the Metropolitan Championships Friday through Sunday.
