MELBOURNE, FL - Ramy Lawandy and Cosmin Chiujdea scored singles wins for New Jersey Institute of Technology, but St. Louis prevailed, 5-2, Saturday morning.
Lang prevailed at second singles, 0-6, 6-2 and 10-8 in the tiebreaker. Chiujdea, won third singles 6-2, 4-6, 10-2.
At first singles, freshman Steve Erickson lost a close match with St. Louis's Felipe Acosta 2-6, 6-3, 10-8 victory.
St. Louis swept the doubles competition. The closest match came at the No. 1 spot where Paul Feder and Sean McManus came out on top 8-7 (10-8) in the tiebreaker against doubles partners Chiujdea and Lang.
NJIT, which is 8-8, will play at Tenafly Racquet Club on Saturday, starting at 7:00 pm.
