NJIT Tops Mount St. Mary's, 4-2

EMMITSBURG, MD - The NJIT men's tennis team raised its season record to 2-1 with a 4-2 win at Mount St. Mary's Wednesday afternoon.

The Highlanders grabbed the win with victories in the first four singles spots. The Mountaineers took the last two singles and the teams did not play doubles competition on this day.

Steve Erickson scored a 6-1, 6-2 win in first singles for the Highlanders. Followed by wins for Jonathan Lang at number two, Cosmin Chiujdea in the third slot and Anthony Tunnero at number four.

Lang and Tunnero each won 6-3, 6-3, while Chiujdea won 6-3, 6-4.

Derek Taylor and Rob Dupaya won at five and six, respectively for the Mount.

Next up for the Highlanders is a home match against Siena on Saturday at 1 pm on the Fleisher Athletic Center courts.
