WEST POINT, NY - The men's and women's track and field team competed at the Crowell Invitational on Saturday afternoon at Gillis Field House.
Freshman Katherine Joseph finished 18th in the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:04.00 as Mandala Graves-Fulgham was the top finisher from the University of Connecticut with a time of 56.99 Rookie Nicole Kerrison finished in the top 10 of the 500 meter dash finishing sixth with a time of 1:25.00.
Two Highlanders, Jamil Wilkins and Aamir Ahmed competed in the 400 meter dash placing 27th and 35th respectively. NJIT's Mark Given placed fifth in the 500 meter dash with a time of 1:05.40 while Umar Saeed appeared in his first race of the year finishing 21st.
Stefan Montalvo and Brad Leonhardt finished back-to-back in the mile run crossing the finish line with a 23rd and 24th place.
The NJIT track and field team returns to action on January 26, when they return to West Point, NY for the Army Open which is scheduled for 11am.
