Men's Track and Field Host NJIT Highlander Invitational

PARAMUS, NJ - New Jersey Institute of Technology defeated St. Francis (NY) and Saint Peter's but lost to Wagner in Saturday's men's NJIT Track and Field Invitational hosted by New Jersey Institute of Technology held at Bergen Community College.

The meet was scored as a series of head-to-head competitions, as the Highlanders beat St. Francis, 93-23 and Saint Peter's, 66-58. Wagner topped NJIT, 79-51.

Individually, junior Joel Rosado placed in three events. In the 100 meter hurdles, Rosado finished sixth crossing the finish line with a time of 17.53. In men's high jump, he placed fifth with a jump of 5'4. Rosado finished in the top 10 in the triple jump with a jump of 33'6.

Akitunde Oyawusi broke the varsity and freshman record for the 100 with a time of 11.91.

Sophomore Umar Saeed finished sixth in the 1500 meter run. Jeffrey Page finished in the top 10 in both of his events, 200 meter dash and 400 meter dash.
