Saeed Places Second in the 10,000 Meter Run at the CTC Championships

ALLENTOWN, PA - Umar Saeed of New Jersey Institute of Technology placed second in the 10,000 meter run leading the Highlanders in the 2007 CTC Outdoor Track and Field Championships hosted by Desales University this weekend.

Saeed, a sophomore finished just shy of first place finishing behind of Joe Parks from CW Post who finished with a time of 32:21.70. Saeed crossed the line at 32:22.10 recording eight points for the Highlanders.

Akitunde Oyawusi broke his recent record of 11.91 he set at the Highlander Invitational on April 7, this weekend crossing the line with a time of 11.77.

In the 110 meter run, Joel Rosado and Jerard King finished side by side with times of 17.38 and 17.92 respectively. Rosado placed 10th in the high jump with a jump of 5'8.

Matt Magnifico finished in the top 15, in the triple jump finals with a jump of 37'6. Pete Charles of Lehman placed first jumping 47'1.

The Highlanders return to action on Sunday, April 29 in New Haven, CT at the Yale Invitational. The meet is scheduled to start at 9:00am.
