Tran and Amevor Set New School Records at Yale Invitational

NEW HAVEN, CT - Duc Tran and Chaz Amevor of New Jersey Institute of Technology men's track and field team set new school records this weekend at the Yale Invitational.

Tran, who placed ninth in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, set a new school record crossing the finish line with a time of 10:48.94. Tran also placed in the top 10 in the javelin with a throw of 128'06.

Freshman Amevor, in the 800 meter run set a new freshman record with a time of 2:09.58. Highlander Babatunde Busari completed the race at 2:06.21.

Rookie Jeffrey Page finished 12 out of 23 in the 400 meter dash clocking in at 52.10, a second behind Steven Harris of Bergen Community.

The Highlanders are off until Friday, May 11 when they travel to California for the Division I Independent Track Championships, which are scheduled to start at 9am.
