Men's Track Opens Indoor Season

RIVERDALE, NY - The Highlanders marked the start of the 2007-08 women's indoor track and field season against Wagner and host Manhattan at the Manhattan Open Saturday afternoon.

NJIT picked up two first place finishes in the 300 and 600 meter run while setting numerous school and freshman records.

Babatunde Busari set a school-record in the 600 meter run at 1:32.5 while freshman Mark Givens set a freshman and school-record in the 300 meter run with a time of 37.0 seconds.

Freshman Stefan Montalvo set a freshman record finishing at 1:35.2 in the 600 meter run.

In the 55 intermediate hurdles, freshman Jesper Lund crossed the finish line with a time of 9.1 seconds.

Josh-Erik Dolisca in the shot-put set a school and freshman record with a throw of 11.94.

The Highlanders return to action on Sunday, December 2 at the Seton Hall Invitational at 10am in South Orange, NJ.
