NEWARK, NJ - New Jersey Institute of Technology junior opposite hitter Leonardo Paludo was named to the 2007 All-Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association second team, the conference announced today.

Paludo, a Brazilian native from Balnéario Camboriú, Brazil, was one of the Highlanders offensive threats this year. He is ranked nationally in two categories; twelfth in kills per game with (4.38) and thirteenth in services aces with 35. He was named to the EIVA Hay Division Player of the Week four times this season, completing his junior season with 407 kills, which was fifth in the conference.

Paludo combined for 407 kills on 827 total attacks for a .312 hitting percentage. He led the Highlanders with 37 services aces which ranked him fifth in the conference.

He posted a career-high 37 kills against East Stroudsburg on March 6 setting a single season match record over the last two seasons. His 37 kills in five matches' ties him for second with Paul Carroll from Pepperdine in the 30-Kill Club in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA).

He was joined on the All-EIVA second team with Jeremy Barndt and Matt Werle from Juniata, Mark Burik of George Mason, Jon Daley from East Stroudsburg, Peter Eichler and Mike Vincent of Princeton, setter Eric Honsberger of Rutgers-Newark and Jordan Varee of St. Francis (NY).
