He covered the course in 26:33.3, which was good for 13th place.

2005: Newcomer of the Year ... Umar Saeed capped a splendid freshman season by earning All-East honors with a 24th-place finish in the IC4A University men's cross country championship race ... first in the CACC championship race, finishing nearly 47 seconds ahead of Bloomfield's Walter Tum, who was defending his 2004 championship.

Prior to NJIT: All-state, finished 7th in the Meet of Champions ... county champion for coach Richard Gebour at Old Bridge ... top finisher for his 2004 team that won Group 4 state championship and place third in the state.
