Stefan Montalvo Finishes Second at Highlander Invite

NEWARK, NJ - Freshman Stefan Montalvo placed second as the men's cross country team competed at the Highlander Invite Sunday morning.

The Highlanders came up short against St. Peter's 31-26 in the 5k race at Branch Brook Park.

Montalvo finished second (29.23) breaking his time of (29.33) that he had recently set in at the NJIT Classic back on September 16. With his time of (29.23) he ranks in the top 30-sub club.

Placing first was St. Peter's Michael Bravo with a time of 28.51.87

Sophomore Brad Leonhardt finished in the top five setting a personal record with a time of 30.14.18 while five Highlanders followed behind. The Highlanders placed seventh-eleventh: Chadwick Munroe, Jamil Wilkins, Michael Genauer, Mark Givens, and Bryan Louvado.

Also placing for the Highlanders were Peter Klabe, John Zawisa, Doug Colaizzo who competed in his first collegiate race today, Matthew Magnifico and Drew Pennyfeather.

The Highlanders return to action on Saturday, October 20 when they travel to Pomona, NJ for the CTC Championship which is scheduled to start at 11am.
