Saeed :Leads Highlanders vs. Saint Peter's

NEWARK, NJ - Umar Saeed finished 23 seconds ahead of the field and New Jersey Institute of Technology took four of the first five spots in Wednesday's cross country race vs. Saint Peter's held at Branch Brook Park.

Saeed ran the 3,500-meter race in 10:59, leading the Highlanders in their 20-41 win over the visitors. Only second-place Roman Zhmurenka of Saint Peter's (11:22) interrupted what would have been a sweep for NJIT.

Babatunde Busari was third (11:34), Tchaz Amevor was fourth (11:41) and captain Dave Kloc was fifth (11:43) for the Highlanders.

Also running for NJIT were: Michael Genauer (7th; 11:59), Bryan Louvado (8th; 12:02), Matt Magnifico (9th; 12:06) and Jamil Wilkins (11th; 12:59).

NJIT's next scheduled action is on October 14 in the CTC Championship, hosted by DeSales University in Allentown, PA.
