Allentown, PA - Umar Saeed of New Jersey Institute of Technology finished second individually and the Highlanders were the fifth-place team in the annual Collegiate Track Conference cross country championship hosted by Desales University on Saturday.

Saeed ran the 8,000-meter course in 26:35.28, coming in less than 17 seconds behind the race winner, Joe Parks of CW Post. The team winner was CW Post, which had four finishers in the race's top 10.

The next Highlander finisher was Duc Tran, who placed 21st (28:31.72). Babatunde Busari was 25th (28:43.42) for NJIT. Also scoring for the Highlanders were Tchaz Amevor (38th; 29:27.8) and Bryan Louvado (50th; 30:04.76).

The Highlanders are scheduled to run in the Central Connecticut State University Mini-Meet in New Britain, CT, on Saturday, October 21 at noon.
