BRONX, NY - NJIT's men's and women's cross country teams hosted the 5th Annual Nick Russo Halloween Classic at Van Cordtlandt Park this afternoon.
Freshman Stefan Montalvo covered the 8k course in (20:59.05) to finish second individually behind Stevens (20:45.63) Steven Chick.
Senior Matthew Magnifico placed third at (21:08.69) finishing seconds behind Stevens Bradford Antes (21:01.09).
Other Highlanders scorers were: Chadwick Munroe (21:50.60), Brad Leonhardt (21.58.22), Drew Pennyfeather (22:19.42) and Mark Givens (22:26.87).
On the women's side, freshman Katherine Joseph was the top finisher for NJIT in the 5k course placing seventh individually at (12:15.79). Captain Cara Constantino finished with a time of (12:26.06).
Other finishers for NJIT were: Nicole Kerrison (12:43.60), Daisy Gallegos (12:52.52), Lesley Hendricks (12:59.41) and freshman Shawntel Young (14:07.71).
Both teams return to action on Saturday, November 17 at the IC4A/ECAC Championships held at Van Cordtlandt Park in the Bronx.
