NEW HAVEN, CT - New Jersey Institute of Technology Umar Saeed is the latest Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference male cross country Runner of the Week, the conference announced today.

Saeed earned the honor for his meet-record first-place finish in the Highlander Invitational, contested October 9 in Branch Brook Park, not far from the NJIT campus.

Saeed, a freshman who has won his last four college races, extended his streak by winning the Highlander Invitational by less than a second over the second-place finisher. Saeed's winning time of 25:53 on the 8-kilometer course was a meet record.

The latest honor was Saeed's second CACC Runner of the Week award this season. He first won the award on September 26.
