NEW HAVEN, CT - New Jersey Institute of Technology's Umar Saeed is the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference male cross country Runner of the Week for the third time this season, the conference announced.
Saeed earned the latest honor for his course-record 27:33, two seconds ahead of the next runner in last Sunday's St. Joseph Invitational, run at Sunken Meadow State Park in Kings Park, NY, on the north shore of Long Island.
Saeed, the freshman, was second in his first college race and has won every race he has run since, claiming five straight first-place finishes, including the latest on Long Island.
The latest honor was Saeed's third CACC Runner of the Week award this season. He first won the award on September 26 and repeated last week on October 10.
