Northampton, MA - New Jersey Institute of Technology women's fencing team competed at the 79th Annual NIWFA Championships, which were held on Sunday, March 4 at Smith College in Northampton, MA.
Junior Felicia Amaechi and Samata Kakkad split duties on the C strip finishing the day 3-8 and 1-2 respectively.
Freshman saber fencer Nicole Fagundo fenced all 14 girls on the B strip finishing 2-12.
Senior Jennifer Olsztyn and first year fencer Teresa Higgins switched off fencing on the A strip. Olsztyn recorded a 2-9 record as Higgins went 1-2 on the day.
Olsztyn was named to the 12-player all-Academic team. Other institutions represented on the team included Drew, Yeshiva, Temple, Smith, City College of New York, Stevens, Stony Brook, Clemson, Haverford, United States Military Academy and Mount Holyoke.
