NEWARK, NJ - Mary Munoz, a 2007 graduate of Southern Regional High School in Manahawkin, NJ, has committed to continue her academic and soccer career at New Jersey Institute of Technology, coach Alyssa Radu announced.
Munoz was a midfielder at Southern Regional, which plays in the one of New Jersey's strongest scholastic leagues, the Shore Conference.
Although she lives in the Shore area, Munoz was born up north in Wayne, NJ, and she played youth soccer with NJIT's rising junior forward Briana Morales, who is from Paterson, NJ.
Munoz, who resides in Barnegat, NJ, is the daughter of Martha Williams and Robert Munoz. She plans to major in chemistry at NJIT.
"Mary is a versatile, hard-nosed player," said Radu. "She's athletic and she has a nose for the goal. We expect her to fit well into our program."
