NEWARK, NJ - Kyrsten Howell-Harries, who is one of more than 10 recruits slated to join New Jersey Institute of Technology women's soccer in August, wrapped up her high school career with an Ontario Provincial gold medal in June.
Howell-Harries, a center midfielder, was part of the team at AB Lucas Secondary school in London, Ontario. The team was the Ontario Federation of School Athletics Associations 2007 Girls Champion in the AAAA division.
The NJIT-bound Howell-Harries capped her scholastic career in June, due to girls soccer being a spring sport in Ontario.
In addition to her play at AB Lucas, which had placed fourth in the province after the previous season, she also competes for the London City Lightning club team, which has won titles in Canada and the United States. She has played both age group and adult competition for her club.
Howell-Harries, who is planning to major in communications/education, will report for her first college season in August, as the Highlanders prepare for the season opener on Sunday, September 2 at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY.
