NJIT's Sadie Mele Repeats as United Soccer Conference Goalkeeper of the Week

NEWARK, NJ - NJIT freshman Sadie Mele has been named to the United Soccer Conference Goalkeeper of the Week award for the second time this season.

Katey Turner of Utah Valley was named Player of Week scoring her first goal of the season against Wyoming.

Mele, a freshman had another stellar week in goal for the Highlanders as she allowed only one goal in a 1-0 loss to Iona. The only goal of the game came by Iona's Rachel Bucolo where she carried the ball into the box and shot a hard ground ball from 15 yards away beating diving Mele at 56:46. She made six saves in goal.

Mele leads the USC in GAA (1.18) and save percentage (.861) while ranking second in saves (31).

NJIT's next game is tonight when they host Drexel at 7pm on Lubetkin Field.
