OREM, UT - NJIT women's soccer players Emma Vinski, Sadie Mele and Kori Washington have swept the United Soccer Conference weekly awards, award coordinator Brent Johnson of Utah Valley announced.

Vinski, who was honored with Player of the Week, has worked hard to come back from a serious knee injury and scored her first goal since September 2005, taking a lead pass from Washington and catching Howard's goalkeeper out of position for a goal from the left wing. Vinksi scored her second goal of the season the next game against Delaware State at 32:53 in the first half from junior Briana Morales.

Mele, tabs Goalie of the Week for the third time this season in a 2-0 week for the Highlanders. Freshman Mele, made four saves in a conference win against Howard. While in goal against Delaware State, she picked up her first college shutout. Mele, has notched double-figure saves totals on four occasions this year, and was forced to make one save in blanking the Hornets Friday night. Mele had six previous one-goal games this season while ranking first in the conference with 110 saves.

Washington, a freshman, was named Rookie of the Week, posting two goals and two assists combining for six points last week. Against Howard she collected her second and third goals of the season and added an assist giving her a five-point night. She assisted on senior Aine O'Dwyer's goal against Delaware State recording her second assist on the season.

The Highlanders host South Carolina State on Friday, November 2, at 7 pm on Lubetkin Field. That match will be the final regular season conference contest of the season for the Highlanders.

After that, the regular season ends with a Senior Day non-conference home finale against Saint Peter's on November 4 at 5 pm and then the USC postseason tournament November 7 to 11 at Utah Valley.
