NEWARK, NJ - Manhattan defeated host New Jersey Institute of Technology, 53-30, in women's swimming Friday night at the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

The Highlanders picked up points in three events. Alaine Fairweather, Ashley Craig and Teresa Higgins scored in the 50-yard freestyle. Fairweather was second at 28.91 in the 100 freestyle while Higgins and Leigh Ann Zangara finished three and four in the 100 backstroke.

NJIT also picked up points in the 200-yard free relay with Higgins, Craig, Zangara and Fairweather at 2:12.55.

The Highlanders are off until February 16, when they are scheduled to swim at Metropolitan Conference Championships in New Brunswick.
