NJIT Visits Monclair State

MONTCLAIR, NJ - Ana Ossa captured first place in the 500-yard freestyle and in the 100-yard breaststroke, leading the New Jersey Institute of Technology women’s swimming team in its meet at Montclair State University Tuesday night.

Ossa, NJIT’s senior captain, won the 500 freestyle in 5:42.70, nearly 29 seconds better than the next finisher. Her time in the 100 breaststroke was 1:13.16.

Also scoring firsts for NJIT in Montclair’s 79-51 win were Leigh Ann Zangara (100-yard freestyle), Alaine Fairweather (100-yard butterfly) and Lorin Diaz (100-yard backstroke).

NJIT will host Manhattan and Hunter in a women’s swimming tri-meet on Saturday at 1 pm in the Fleisher Athletic Center pool.
