Women Lose Two at Home

NEWARK, NJ - The New Jersey Institute of Technology’s women’s swimming team hosted its second tri-meet of the season Saturday afternoon, taking on Manhattan and Hunter College.

Ana Ossa won three individual events against both opponents. Freshman Alaine Fairweather had one second-place finish in the meet.

Ossa won the 1,000-yard free-style at (12:00:29), 100-yard breast stroke (1:13:17) and in the 100-yard fly 1:04:68.

Fairweather’s second-place finish came in the 50-yard freestyle (27:42) against Manhattan.

Lauren Thompson finished first in the 500-yard freestyle and Denise Solorzano finished first in the 100 freestyle against Hunter.

The meets scores were Manhattan 49, NJIT 43 and Hunter 65, NJIT 31.

The Highlanders will visit SUNY Maritime on Wednesday, November 30th at 6 pm.
