NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ - Record-setting senior Ana Ossa is closing her New Jersey Institute of Technology career in style, as the NJIT women’s swimming team competes in the three-day Metropolitan Swimming Conference championship meet.
In preliminary competition Friday and Saturday, Ossa set new records for the 100-yard breaststroke and the 200-yard individual medley.
Saturday night, in the championship final, she re-established the 100-yard breaststroke record she had set earlier in the day. In the morning race, her time was a record 1:10.77 and she swam 1/100 of a second faster at night, covering the distance in 1:10.76.
The championship meet continues Sunday in the final day of competition.
