Moving from the courts to the sidelines in 2006, Eva Salierno holds the distinction of having been captain of two successful college tennis teams.

She began her academic and athletic career at Montclair State University, where she was a co-captain and first singles and first doubles player in her junior year. She transferred to NJIT in 2005 and completed her college playing career as a co-captain while competing at fourth singles and second doubles.

At NJIT, she was part of a strong NCAA Division II team that finished 18-5 overall and was 6-0 in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference and ranked 7th in its region by the ITA. Individually she was 15-7 in singles, competing in each of the first four spots. She was 17-6 in doubles play.

Slated to earn a bachelor of science for NJIT majoring in Science, Technology and Society in December 2006, she joined the NJIT tennis coaching staff in September 2006 and she is a tennis instructor for USA Tennis and Pro Tough Tennis Academy. She has also done volunteer work for the recreation department in her hometown of Clifton, NJ, as well as fundraising for Spina Bifida.
