STATEN ISLAND, NY - The NJIT women's tennis team raised its season record to 12-5 with an impressive 7-0 win over Wagner Wednesday night.
NJIT took all six contested singles matches and swept in the doubles competition.
The Highlanders won the first match 6-0, 6-0, as junior Iulia Doci defeated Brittany Frazza. The next two matches were won by scores, 6-1, 6-0, Isha Toor (#2) and Fatima Kasem (#3).
In fourth and fifth singles, Fanny Aizier (#4) and Dasa Stanimirovic (#5) won by identical scores, 6-0, 6-1. The final match in the singles competition was won by senior Chiori Koike blanking Joanna Civarella, 6-0, 6-0.
Doci and Kasem rolled, 8-0, in first doubles and the Highlander duo of Toor and Stanimirovic took a 8-4 victory at second doubles. Aizier and Chiori finished out the doubles competition with an 8-0 victory.
Next up for NJIT is a match in Queens, NY against St. John's (NY) on Sunday at 3:00 pm.
