Women's Tennis Takes Hofstra, 6-1

BETHPAGE, NY - The New Jersey Institute of Technology women's tennis team raised it overall record to 13-8 with a convincing 6-1 win over Hofstra Tuesday afternoon.

NJIT won five of the six singles matches and took two out of three doubles matches.

Isha Toor and Fanny Aizier teamed for an 8-1 win in second doubles against Hofstras' duo of Valerie McDonald and Tracy Ferrar. Toor also defeated McDonald in third singles 6-3, 6-3, while Aizier of the Highlanders topped Lauren Moeller in fifth singles 6-2, 6-0.

Chiori Koike and Marine Henry picked up an 8-2 win for NJIT in third doubles, while Koike and Henry claimed wins at fourth and sixth singles.

The only win for Hofstra was at second singles, won by Stacy Kent, 6-4, 6-3.

The Highlanders return to action when they travel to Monmonth on Wednesday, April 11 at 3pm in their final match of the 2007 season.
