Bucknell Invitational - Day Two Results
LEWISBURG, PA - Three different Highlanders picked up wins in day two of the Bucknell Invitational in women's tennis today.
Picking up from where she left off yesterday, junior Iulia Doci claimed a 7-5, 6-2 win over Bucknell's Caitie Baffa in the first flight of the women's singles second round.
Following in Doci's footsteps was Fanny Aizier battling out a three-set victory over Quinnipiac's Amanda Petruzzie 3-6, 6-3, (10-7) in the fourth flight.
The final individual win for the Highlanders was picked up by sophomore Isha Toor fighting out a three-set match and claiming a 1-6, 6-3, (11-9) victory in the fifth flight over Bucknell's Carlin Calcaterra.
In the first round of the doubles contests, the Highlanders swept in each of the flights.
Doubles pair, Doci and Toor combined for a 9-8 (11) victory over UConn's LoRusso and Herb. Transfer Dasa Stanimirovic and Aizier topped Bucknell's doubles partners 9-8 (2) while Chiori Koike and Fatima Kasem combined for an 8-6 victory at the third flight.
Moving on into the second round of the doubles contests Doci and Toor recorded another win on the day topping Quinnipiac's Wilson and Markinson.
Doci and Toor swept the doubles contest with a 9-8 (2) victory in the third round.
The Bucknell Invitational will wrap up on Sunday with two singles rounds and one round of doubles.
