STATEN ISLAND, NY - New Jersey Institute of Technology women's track and field team competed in the Wagner Invitational on Saturday.
The meet was scored as a series of head-to-head competitions, as the Highlanders defeated Hofstra 39-31 and came up short against Fairleigh Dickinson 53-21.
NJIT had three entrants in the 100-meter dash and freshman Lesley Hendricks was the top finisher, placing in seventh (14.30). Jackie McCaffrey finished 5th in the 400-meter hurdles (1:14.0).
The 4x100 meter relay squad consisted of Dharshini Sivakumaran, Felicia Amaechi, Aileen Davila and Cara Constantino finished second with a time of 55.24.
In the shot put, Eti Ebewo finished second with a throw of (12.00).
The Highlanders are off till April 7, when they host the NJIT Highlander Invitational at 9:00am in Paramus, NJ.
