Morgan State Grabs 3-0 Victory Over Highlanders

BALTIMORE, MD - Morgan State setter Jentri Fullove recorded a match-high 40 assists as the NJIT women's volleyball team came up short Wednesday night as it dropped a 3-0 (30-24, 30-26, 30-21) decision to Morgan State.

Highlander Katrina Hornstein posted 10 kills along with 12 digs, but it wasn't enough to overcome the offensive strength of Morgan State.

The Bison were led by Esther Johnson who notched a match-high 14 kills and nine digs while teammates Ivanta Bush and Jeniqua Moran posted 13 and 12 kills respectively.

NJIT middle blocker Rebecca Wilkinson recorded 6 kills on 13 attempts with one error for a .385 hitting percentage. Wilkinson added five assists.

Sophomore outside hitter Kristy Haeckel tallied nine kills while Kubra Tanrikulu followed behind with eight. Agnieszka Pregowska added six.

Setter Erica Schultz piled up 21 assists while senior Ashley Craig who played in two matches tallied six.

On the defensive end, Sabrina Baby dug-up a team-high 13 digs, as Hornstein collected 12 and Tanrikulu combined for 11.

The Highlanders recorded five service aces led by Hornstein and Tanrikulu with two.

NJIT will be back in action on Friday, October 26 at 7pm against Providence in the second game of the two-day NJIT Halloween Classic in the Estelle and Zoom Fleisher Athletic Center.

The NJIT Halloween Classic features two matches the first day while featuring four matches on Saturday with a continuous schedule from 10am past 4pm. NJIT's guests for the two-day Invitational will be Providence, Sacred Heart and Howard.
