NEWARK, NJ - NJIT freshman Cara Constantino finished first in Wednesday's cross country race vs. Saint Peter's held at Branch Brook Park.

Constantino won the 1,600-meter race in a time of 6:21, while teammate Jackie McCaffrey was second in a time of 6:21.5.

Although the two Highlanders led the field by almost 16 seconds, Saint Peter's took the next seven spots to win the team competition, 25-36.

Also running for NJIT were: Aileen Davila (8:25), Jessica Ware (8:48) and Dharshini Sivakumaran (9:09).

NJIT's next scheduled action is on October 14 in the CTC Championship, hosted by DeSales University in Allentown, PA.
