BRONX, NY - Junior captain Cara Constantino represented NJIT in the season-ending ECAC University Division 5k race at the 99th IC4A/23rd ECAC Cross Country Championships held at Van Cortlandt Park.
Constantino, finished 187th covering the course in 22:38, recording a personal-best as the Highlanders participated in its first IC4A/23rd ECAC race as a full Division I team.
As a team, the Highlanders placed 24th ahead of Mercy College.
Freshman Daisy Gallegos set a personal-best placing 202nd with a time of 23:44. Katherine Joseph and Nicole Kerrison finished side by side 23:36; 23:38.
Shawntel Young finished the Van Cordtlandt course with a time of 25:57. Young finished the course one minute and 45 seconds faster then her old mark.
Twenty-five complete teams ran in the race, with University of New Hampshire winning the team competition and Elizabeth Kennedy was the top individual, at 18:14.
